My Dear Brethren,
With Christmas fast approaching I can reflect on the preceding twelve months and what a busy year 2022 has proved to be, it would appear that the majority of the South East lodges and brethren have really embraced their Freemasonry again post pandemic, and whilst the economy poses some difficulties, we appear to meeting those challenges head on.
Personally I have been trying to attend as may Lodges as I can and have been warmly welcomed by you all, and your kindness and empathy have been magnificent. The passion for Freemasonry is clearly evident wherever I go and this does not end at the Lodge room door, all of you and your families do so much in our communities and on their behalf I offer my sincere thanks, for too long Freemasonry has hidden in the shadows but now we are out there and proud of it, and long may that continue.
Sadly we have lost loved ones over the last year and this is always a difficult time of year for those relatives and friends to cope with, but all we can do is offer our love and support and celebrate those well spent lives.
I do hope that 2023 proves to be even better than 2022, it would appear that with the vaccination regime in place, more of us are growing in confidence and conducting our lives as before which is encouraging.
Once again can I say that whatever our faith let us come together and all share the festivities with our families, friends and loved ones.
I look forward to seeing many of you at our meetings in the coming year, until then, Christine and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year
Barrie and Christine
