Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January 2022

Holocaust Memorial Day is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Barrie Hewitt, was in attendance for the service and wreath laying.

Barrie’s reading focussed on the days theme ‘One Day’ and the hope for when there will be no more terrible acts of genocide.

Afterwards, Barrie spoke about how moving the service was and that he was heartened to see the event attended by several young adults from various schools. He was incredibly pleased to see this as it is his hope that through education and awareness, these terrible acts may one day stop. He also mentioned how proud he was to see Freemasonry represented and involved in various areas of the community.
